What is an Industrial Design?
Industrial design protection covers the aesthetic appearance of a product, including features such as its shape, configuration, patterns, colors or ornamentation.
Design protection is particularly relevant in industries where product appearance plays a key role in consumer perception and brand differentiation.
Industrial designs are registered in Morocco with the OMPIC.

Duration of Design Protection
Industrial design protection is granted for an initial period of five (5) years and may be renewed for successive periods up to a maximum duration of twenty-five (25) years.
International Design Protection
Yes. International design protection can be obtained through the Hague System administered by WIPO.
This system allows applicants to file a single international design application designating multiple jurisdictions.
